- First BIKE24 Service Point outside Dresden
Dresden, 13 September 2022 – The BIKE24 Service Point in Berlin is now officially launching with an opening event on 17 September 2022. This means that the e-commerce bike platform now has a clear instore contact point in the German city of cyclists. Located in the centre near to the Humboldthafen, the store offers bike enthusiasts among other things the opportunity to get advice on their choice of bike with the help of a special measuring method or to bring in their bike for repairs. A bike wash, engaging do-it-yourself workshops, a road bike ride, a raffle with 500 prizes and much more await visitors on the opening day.
“In hardly any other major German city is cycling booming like in Berlin, so the capital is the perfect choice for our first instore point of contact outside of our company site in Dresden," reports Andrés Martin-Birner, Founder & CEO of BIKE24. "Our new BIKE24 Service Point combines online shopping with offline services for our customers in Berlin and the surrounding area, adding an extra layer to their shopping experience."
The BIKE24 team in Berlin is currently available to all bike fans from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursdays to Saturdays, for advice, repairs and as a pick-up point for bikes and other products ordered online. It is already planned to extend these opening hours. The location offers high added value with its so-called ‘bike sizing’. This is where the customer is measured first to help them find a new bicycle that will be the perfect fit. The system uses this data to suggest a selection of models. A so-called ‘fitting bike’ is then used to simulate a ride on a suitable model. This quickly shows whether the chosen bike will suit the rider. Afterwards, it can be ordered directly on site and then delivered to the store or the customer’s home on request. Even if the new bike is to be leased as a company bike rather than bought, the BIKE24 team is on hand to provide comprehensive advice.
Visitors to the BIKE24 Service Point on its opening day on Saturday 17 September 2022 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. can experience even more. This will include, for example, a bike wash and various do-it-yourself workshops where people who are not yet very familiar with bike torque wrenches can learn the most important hand movements for fixing brakes, gears and wheels. BIKE24 will also be raffling off 500 high-quality prizes. Besides the main prize – an exercise bike worth over €700 – bicycle wall mounts, tool sets, drink bottles and much more await the guests.
A community ride on racing bikes will also see participants cycling 60 kilometres through Berlin. The route heads at a relaxed pace southwest past the Olympic Stadium, along the Havelchaussee – one of the city's most popular racing bike routes – through the Grunewald forest and back via the Brandenburg Gate towards the starting point at the BIKE24 Service Point, where the day can then come to an end with snacks and drinks.
